Kiki Zais is an abstract artist. She works from a spiritual place using various mediums, oil, acrylic, cold wax, encaustic, and resin. Her process starts with meditation, and it then guides her on colors/shapes,placement. The evolution occurs with layers of interpretive expression. Her final stage is a mindfulness practice, by blocking out the interference. The work is complete when it makes her feel at peace. Kiki’s creations are all connected to my experiences in life and she hopes you can connect with them as well.

Rosemary Riddle-Achelpohl has a passion for life and beauty. She transfers that joy and gratitude through rich textures and colors to the canvas. 

Words from Rosemary, “Whether in my home studio or my friend’s, I put on music, my apron and prepare myself by looking at each project and seeing where they’re at. If oils, I will mix colors, paint with a palette knife until my energy is spent.  At times, I become frenetic- my coffee or water forgotten for hours. Constantly moving away and around, even above the piece to take it in - think, absorb and let the process dictate.  The serendipity is what draws me in and holds me.  The painting itself takes over telling me what’s next.  Then, I’ll move to gesso new boards and canvases, sketching other works, applying resin to completed pieces.  If abstracts, oil or mixed media, I layer texture with gloved hands- next day will be colors.  This continues almost as a dance- very physical day after day, layer after layer until she decides she’s done.”

Travel continues to influence her world view and imbues her art with energy. Her works are in private and corporate collections in the United States, South America, and Asia.

Inspired by meditation and nature, I use mixed media to transpose the aura of meditation to artwork and inspire a calm strength in the viewer.  Layer upon layer of paint reveals an  impressionistic view of seascapes and landscapes.  The artwork brings the viewer to a peaceful moment in time, possibly fused with the past to translate a peaceful experience.
