Harmony’s Moon by Kelly Dillard is 40x40x1.5" mixed media on canvas.
Kelly Dillard’s abstract expressionism paintings examine the way art shapes our environment, perception, and mood to engulf all that surrounds us. Her inspiration is not always the actual surrounding environment in the physical sense, but can be just a pattern, a repetition, a glimpse of light or of darkness.
Her paintings begin in an intuitive way. Layer upon layer, of push and pull, additive, subtractive, thick, and thin, tension and calm, dynamic yet subtle marks, result in a history of sorts in the under-layers and the present in the top layers.
Her expressionist work reflects much more than a gestural mark making or an emphasis on stroke, texture, and color. It is the embodiment of two worlds colliding, that of the five senses and that of the sixth. One which is explained and one which lies beyond.

Christina Sodano grew up in Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, a town with beautiful landscapes which inspired her drawing at a young age and began private art lessons. As an undergraduate at Moore College of Art she majored in illustration. Illustration fostered her love for art, while advertising supported her ability to have a successful career. In 1988 Christina moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where she worked at Phoenix Art Group. In 1992 Christina created her own art business representing 20 artists throughout the country selling to interior designers, furniture companies, and private collectors. Painting remains Christina’s first love and a vibrant testament to her profound talent. Christina loves to exaggerate her color and design while transforming the subject on the canvas.
