Water painting, via study of sun glistening on the surface of water and the reflections and shadows drawn from light beneath the surface, Bleached Coral Waters builds depth with a relaxing combination of colors - aqua, blue, turquoise, purple, light pink and iridescent green and white. The 2020 color of the year is Bleach Coral. The colorful painting is an extension of meditation and exudes happiness.
The deep blue pigments of guasche paint build depth of lapis stone which is defined in the abstract painting by Julia Ross. Rich colors of blue are outlined by black and white accents to add color to design elements.
The painting is part of a new series, Earth Wind & Water to be exhibited at The Other Art Fair Dallas - This Original abstract painting will be featured with the new collection.

A note from the artist:
Glistening in the Darkness When I was invited to exhibit as the only woman in a group show in Florida titled "The Big Fish", I knew I had better show up strong when I would be hanging with world renown maritime and big game fish painter Mr. Guy Harvey, underwater WWI plane wrecks master Randal Scott and contemporary island life painter Dan Mackin.
It was my mermaids, mermen, with a few underwater dolphin and whale paintings that attracted the invitation for me to swim with these big fish so I wanted to bring a fresh subject, perspective and complexity to the party. The Jellyfish series has intrigued me with the endless lighting options effecting the diversified translucent complexities of species structures. With such unearthly design and undulating movement patterns they provided a unique creative challenge. They were great fun in the studio so I expect them to show up in more underwater imagery.
