Elizabeth Bernheisel is a contemporary artist who lives in Delray Beach FL. She has a BS in Art History from University of Maryland and studied decorative painted finishes with Ina Brousseau Marx in New York.
Elizabeth was inspired to create at a young age. One of her earliest memories is posing for her Grandfather, the smells of oil paint and turpentine always bringing back those memories. Both her Mother and Grandfather were accomplished artists as well as entrepreneurs. She was greatly influenced by this creative, entrepreneurial spirit and has operated a variety of creative businesses from faux finishing to creating a line of home accessories.
Several years ago, Elizabeth became fascinated with abstract expressionist painting. After studying with various teachers such as Steven Aimone and Nicholas Wilton, she is now pursuing a new career as an emerging abstract painter. Elizabeth creates her work in her home studio in Delray Beach, Florida.
Elizabeth derives inspiration for her work from her many life experiences and color is her greatest motivator in her work. She finds painting the best way to express her optimism and excitement for the future and her gratitude for the fortunate life she has had. Elizabeth likes to keep her work in constant transition, always trying new techniques and mediums. “Painting energizes and excites me with its endless possibilities of colors, forms and lines!”
