Stella had three girls during the 1950s. She was an artist, a teacher and cherished mother. She passed away at 43.  This large scale painting on canvas framed represents Stella's continued influence in another century and through many countries. Rosemary Riddle-Achelpohl has a passion for life and beauty. She transfers that joy and gratitude through rich textures and colors to the canvas. 

Words from Rosemary, “Whether in my home studio or my friend’s, I put on music, my apron and prepare myself by looking at each project and seeing where they’re at. If oils, I will mix colors, paint with a palette knife until my energy is spent.  At times, I become frenetic- my coffee or water forgotten for hours. Constantly moving away and around, even above the piece to take it in - think, absorb and let the process dictate.  The serendipity is what draws me in and holds me.  The painting itself takes over telling me what’s next.  Then, I’ll move to gesso new boards and canvases, sketching other works, applying resin to completed pieces.  If abstracts, oil or mixed media, I layer texture with gloved hands- next day will be colors.  This continues almost as a dance- very physical day after day, layer after layer until she decides she’s done.”

Travel continues to influence her world view and imbues her art with energy. Her works are in private and corporate collections in the United States, South America, and Asia.

Brannan stated, “Training with Golden was without a doubt the greatest week of my life, in New Orleans with artists from all over the world.”  Brannan’s major influences are Matisse, van Gogh, and Kandinsky. Being a prolific  painter, she had six solo exhibitions from 2018-2021. Brannan is inspired by compassion, truth, and respect. That’s how she lives her life. She resides in Dallas,  Texas.
